Recently I participated in the 2010 world wide 24 hour comic book challenge.

My first thoughts going into the challenge was, “I probably won’t finish, but I’ll give it a try”. Within the first 4 hours I was already a page behind. Then something magical happened; I caught up. I don’t know how it happened, but it was around 4am I shifted gears and started cranking out the content. I eventually finished with an hour and a half to spare.

The version of the comic that is available for you to read for free is a very rough scan of the pencils. The quality isn’t great, so I apologise for that; I haven’t had an opportunity to scan them properly or to even think about cleaning it up. The plan is though, to ink and colour this comic and release it in print for the first quarter of 2011 ready for con-season.

I still don’t have a title or a cover page for this comic, so I’m very willing to e-mail suggestions and thoughts at: paul@guardiancomics.com

Please, feel free to read and I hope you enjoy.

I just wanted to let everybody know where guardian comics is standing as of September.
We have had a blockage in our production pipeline with a lack of writers. As it stands, our three titles, clutching at straws, the dark treaty and ticket to ride have all been waiting in the scripting stage. We basically don’t go ahead with a project until we’re happy with the script.

Having said that, the dark treaty issue 2 script is complete and I’m really happy with it. Aaron and I went over ticket to ride recently and can thankfully say that the 32 page introductory issue is maybe a week away from completion.

You should see some activity of sneak peaks and cover artwork being produced in the next three months, keeping us on track for a new array of titles for the coming year.

Thankyou for your patience, I think the next wave of issues is going to please you all.

Ticket to Ride, (as announced in earlier posts) is set to launch at the start of 2010. I’ve been making a steady amount of buffer strips in preperation for the comic and I thought it would be really cool to show you some samples.

Here are a few of the comics that will be available to read on launch:

We are very excited about this comic, so stick around for more information. We go live in a little more than 2 months.

After some lengthy discussion Paul and I have decided to remove the forum portion of the website for the time being. We’ve decided to move towards a smaller community communication system and use a Facebook fan page. Just type Guardian Comics into the Facebook search section and you should be able to find us (fingers crossed).

Over time we may look at reopening the Forum in the future, but at present while our community is still growing such a large and time consuming form of community management is just getting neglected. Rather than offer you a sub par service we’d rather just remove it and offer you all something a little more manageable and personal.

So please feel free to look us up and say hello!
